It’s official, I’m a runner. Last week I bought my first GU and I got my first Runner’s World magazine in the mail. They had a 5 issue deal for $5.00 so I thought I’d try it out. I’ve tried the Tri-Berry GU and the Peanut Butter GU. They were both okay, but I preferred the peanut butter. They didn’t have any peanut butter when I went to buy some, so I bought one packet of Vanilla Bean to try out. I’m still learning when to use them, but I do think it helped on my last long run. I have to admit, I felt a little strange walking around the store looking for it. I had to ask for help and it felt really awkward…like I needed to say, ‘I run far enough now I do need GU’.
Last weeks training:
Tuesday: 2.5 miles
Wednesday: Some basic body weight moves plus a little yoga.
Thursday: 2.5 mile run, 3 mile walk in the evening
Saturday: 7 miles!
Still need to work on being more consistent with stretching/yoga Resistance Training. I love kettlebells, and they don’t take much time, so I have no excuse.
What do you use for energy? GU, Clif Shots, Swedish Fish, Pretzels?
